With tax money the wife and i are getting one big ticket item each. She is getting a tread mill. Im torn beween two. A new camera or a 40g breeder setup. I hate decisions

Well let's see... a new camera can be used for not only fish stuff but family stuff and a 40g breeder is only fish stuff. That's just my crazy messed-up logic anyways.

yeah forsure camera is way better then a 40gal, now id it was a 100-200gal that might be diff.

Well im thinking im getting a camera and what do you all think about the nikkon d3000. Im only going to have the stock lens that come with it till i can save money for a new one. If anyone is familiar with this camera can i get an external flash for it and how much am i looking at spending on a decent one.

Check Ebay, If nikon is what you want the D,40,60,70,80,90 are better then the d3000, d3100.. what is the stock lens? a 18-55? that is the one they nomally come with. I went with the D70, just because i got a good deal on it, I paid $220.00 for it.

and i still only have my stock lens!!! a macro lens with the specs i want will cost me about 150-250$ i Want a Nikon nikkor, or sigma with a f-stop of f2.8 the faster the shutter speed the more they cost lol.. a good person to talk to would be fishguy, and jon.

Fuzzy does have this camera and its about in my price range. Plus i have seen some of what his camera can do and it was pretty nice. I didnt get to play with it, but he sent me some pics of my fish he took. Looked good.

nice, they are all good cameras i was just told the cpus in D40-90 are better. and on ebay they seemed to run about the same price.
