I have heard via weathermen/women via T.V. that a hot dry summer is predicted, and that a drought is possible and may have already started.
I know that every late July and August the water in Franklin (TN) begins to smell of algae and the water company here has told me in summers past that they add extra chlorine when this occurs.
I know this to be true, because a couple of summers ago I made some mid- summer water changes and added my de-clor as usual and lost several tanks of fish in a few hours because I did not adjust for the added chlorine.
As of the last few days,..... our water has already started smelling of the slightest smell of algae. ALREADY ! And it's only the last of May.
Just a warning to all who use city water ! BE AWARE !

There was a problem in this area with this last summer if you will remember too. They were saying all day on the radio that Percy Priest and Lake Barkley were much lower than normal. They were warning boaters for the holiday weekend.
