One never knows how difficult it can be to find certain items that you may read about in our fish publications, monthly magazines, on the Internet, and on various forums. This is one plant that I have found very difficult to come by,...but after several weeks of searching and discussing with a number of fish and aquatic hobbyists, and breeders of both, I have successfully found this new plant that only became available some 3 years ago. I hope to have success with it and see it multiply, at which time I will offer as first dibs to my fellow MCAA 'Club' members in the event any of you might have an interest in them. I do not know the length of time, if I am successful, that this plant will take to grow and multiply, but I will let you all know if and when it does.

LoL, I do work a lot. 56 to 72 hours per week @ EMS, plus teaching school during the school year. We will be taking a vacation for a few days in Aug. before school starts back. You would think I have free weekends, but parts of them are work days too, and then the 2 teen boys still play baseball so we are on the road for ball games all the time this time of year too. I would rather stay busy though, than to be just sittin' around, so I don't complain; to much that is. LoL !!!

A couple more pictures and a description; compliments of Florida Aquatic Nurserys on the I.N., who first propagated/developed this plant in 2006 to 2008, to my knowledge. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- www.floridaaquatic.com/images/CryptocorynewendtiiFloridaSunsetEmersedgrowthcopy.jpgwww.floridaaquatic.com/images/CryptocoryneFloridaSunsetflowercopy.jpg-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Common Name: Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Florida Sunset' Family Name: Araceae Cultivar Native To: Cultivar Lighting: Medium pH: 6 - 8 Growth Demands: Easy Growth Form: Rosette Growth Rate: Medium True Aquatic: Yes Placement in Tank: Midground Available As: Cryptocoryne Florida Sunset Description: Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Florida Sunset' will be released to the aquarium trade for the first time in very limited quantities starting in January 2009. This plant was first selected in 2006 and since then we have worked with it to pick only the best specimens to increase our stock. It has taken three years and plenty of patience before we were ready to release this plant. Never before in the Aquarium industry has a single plant displayed as many different colors as Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Florida Sunset' with colors ranging from many pink shades to white and golden mixed with green. This plant is a selection from Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Mi Oya' and shares the same easy to grow traits as its parent. Medium to high light light will help to make the leaf colors brighter but this plant will flourish under all lighting conditions. No two plants are exactly the same, so having multiple plants in a group will give you many different color combinations. Whether you are looking to add color to your aquascape or need a new plant to experiment with, this is a must have aquarium plant for everyone. Availability for Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Florida Sunset' will increase over time.
