Yes, thanks Scott.
I always hope other members here make similar statements with a link to us when on other sites and see inquiries such as this.
FYI, there is a E.TN and W. TN fish club, with Presidents that I have shared e-mails and ph. calls with, but neither club is off the ground and moving forward. Their membership base is tiny compared to ours. For our last swap/meet on May 20, I invited their Presidents, officers, and general members to join us, and none from either club attended. I think there are many hobbyists who just can't afford to travel. Don't know about all of them though. I will extend the invitation again for our Fall swap/meet.

i grew up in that area and when i first got into the hobby knoxville was swarming with aquarium shops, a couple of them about the size of the critter. i had my pick of 6 or 7 rather large shops. most have closed up shop now and only a few remain but i imagine there are still a lot of people into the hobby around there.

Ryan, I did not realize you were from Knox.. Do you still have relatives there ? I too am from Knox.. Are you old enough to remember the Broadway Pet Store and Sue's Fancy Fins on Clinton Hwy. ? my mom still lives there but we are from the west area so that is where most of the stores i frequented were located. i do remember both of the stores you mentioned from the phone book (yes this was before the internet). from what i recall they were on the north side of town which explains why i never visited them. places i went were harry's aquarium in oak ridge (now gone, i believe) wet pets - in windsor square (i think that was the name) now gone village aquarium - mabry hood rood off I-140, now gone fins & skins - downtown west, still there - close to Jerry's Artarama, around the 5200 block of kingston pike. can't remember the name, but they had a giant, and i mean giant, pacu. it is now gone.

What is the one you can see from 40 up on the hill? Blue building. We tried to go once but it was closed. Near papermill maybe?

"the aquarium"
that one is after my time but I have been there. it is kind of hard to get to even though you can see it from the interstate. IMO, the critter is better than both remaining Knoxville stores.
