WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM THE MCAA?

Scott, an excellent post above from yesterday. You stated it well.
To all of you,..............although I have been a hobbyist for almost 50 years now, I still raise angelfish, livebearers(guppies), various colors of convicts and kribinisis, and BN pleco's.
Not everyone is an African hobbyist, so please do not be limited to your desires to offer your participation in the BAP to the African Cichlids alone.
My personal participation will not be Africans either, so my hope is that many of you will find the MCAA BAP program fun and worth diving into on whatever levels you so desire.

Who ever said anything about BAPs being about African cichlids alone? I think the whole talk we have had was breeding as many families as possible. If and when we ever post the proposal it will be obvious what the baps is about.

Jon, in the BAP rules, item 5 "All participants shall be MCAA members in good standing". If anyone, member or not, wishes to donate to the MCAA, I am sure we'll accept any relevant items.
If I slant things towards cichlids or african cichlids, I apologise, cichlids are my specialty and more African than American cichlids simply because the CARES list is full of Victorians-as it well should be with 400 of the known 600 gone for good. Of course participation in the BAP is encouraged from all families of fish, in fact, one cannot get far without spawning from more than one family, which families chosen is up to the member. For the record, I have several non cichlid species, including characins, livebearers, hundreds of catfish and my koi have been breeding for two years

No one said BAP was about Cichlids alone, but I have heard from some w/i our group who have ask this very question. I want all to know that any fish can be a BAP partipiciant, no matter the species ! We have even had a few folks who have ask "what is BAP." We old timers need to be aware that some readers may be unaware of what this program is, and put it out there that we want every single member to be a participant !!!
