I don't know what kind of cichlid this is. If you can name it please let me know. I've been thinking about getting rid of it because it has no color. It's in my all male tank, but I'm starting to wonder if this isn't some sort of female.

I thought surely someone on this site could tell me what kind of cichlid this is. I'll try some other forums and see how my luck runs.

I bought this fish from Jon when he had the sale. Maybe he will see this and know what it is.

I'm not strong enough on ID'ing! I had one that looked similar one time but can't even remember the name of that on right now! I'll think on it.

If you can get a pic when it shows its pattern, I can probably id it. I need to see spots or lines better.

Looks like an insignus more I look at it. If they aren't dominant it can take them a while to color up. I think I see a little yellow coming in on the shoulder.

Your right Jon. Someone on another forum thought it was an Protomelas Insignis. I looked it up and found one that looked exactly like this one.

Given time, they are extremely colorful and have a different coloration pattern than most other haps or peacocks.
