Wanting some opinions on how long everyone thinks fish food lasts once opened and used every day (opened and closed, open and closed).
I've been using AquaDine (usually order in 3 lb bags) and then put into a glass canister with air tight lid. Lasts several months, but I'm wondering if the end of the batch is lasting or is the quality of the first food from new bag. Obviously food that's several years old etc would not be good, but just curious about whether I should buy in smaller amounts more frequently.
I bought a small can of NLS today since I hear great things about it, and am going to try that with the new Frontosas I'm getting tomorrow!

I keep flake and pellet food in a garage frig. along with my brine shrimp eggs and my fresh veggies for my BN Pleco's. I have some small airtight canisters I bought @ Wal-Mart that I have a limited amt. of flake and pellets in that I use and keep in the humid fishroom, and I refill them about every other week. therefore I don't know. My guess would only be a few months if not in a frig., but then it would depend on the humidity level where stored too, IMO.

True. I haven't been keeping mine in the fridge, but just in the house where there's never a huge change in humidity/temp.

All my fish are in my fishroom in 1/2 of our garage so the humidity is high even w/o the TN air right now. Frig. is required for me. Your food should last a long time in the house, IMO.
