Generating more traffic

Jon needs to get on & have a massive sale at his place so we can all try to put some faces with some names. It's nice to see a little more traffic on here.

Hopefully soon we can do an event. It's gonna be a slow rebuild but it can be done.

I agree, however the time to strike is now, wow there are folks really interested in it becoming a reality.  Ill do whatever I can to make it happen if you have any suggestions?

Ill start posting it on a few groups on FB, however if they come & make a post... We need to all make a effort to reply in some sort of fashion so it looks busy & welcoming. You know what I'm saying?

So, if no one wants to host something at their house, do you think some people would pay a a little (like $20) to do an aquarium-related activity. Especially if it was something pretty cool?

I've got an idea for an activity and am going to send out an email. I'll let you all know if it comes to anything and if some of the members are interested in participating. It might be something we could video and put up, like paddysdaddy suggested.

Sounds good. Most of the swaps/get togethers we have had have been a success, though we've only had a small number of people who are capable of handling a large crowd, so it narrows it down pretty quickly.

We tried a little Facebook. We did craigslist and flyers at the critter. We have a lot of guest that dont care to log on. They just look for what they need, but chatting on a forum is deeper than they ever want to go. We also have google bots. Best way to bring in people now is word of mouth. If everyone finds one person and brings them here, and then that person brings someone, it will build fast. It also has slowed down every summer and picks up pretty good in the winter. I have had high hopes for club and a lot of ideas, but no time to actually do any of it.

I agree with you, especially about people not wanting to chat online.

I think it'd be great if we could have meet-ups two or three times a year. That would probably appeal to more people than just the forum. I don't want you to feel pressured to spend all your spare time trying to plan it all. If you and others can provide the ideas maybe the rest of us can run with it and get it together.

I really just want to be a helpful member of the group, so I hope I'm not going too far. If I am, feel free to let me know
