Right now it's in a 65 with a blood parrot I've had since I got into the hobby ten years ago lol. (Don't judge). Haha

They are not true earth eaters but do sift sand a little so you might want to consider changing over to a finer substrate. It will be fine without it but you may see more natural beahvor with it.

They are good enough fish. Lots of personality. Though the debate lingers on. Of course when I got him I had no idea about hybridization of them etc.

I have yet to see 100% evidence that they are for sure hybrids. Some fish naturally produce a few short bodied fry and even a very few parrot mouthed ones. In nature they would just get eaten so they never get a chance to reproduce. I like hte King Kong parrots OK. They are also a good stepping stone in the breeding process for some nice liking flowerhorns. Everyone should stay away from the dyed blood parrots. That dying process greatly harms the fish.

That dyed/tattooed thing is just wrong. I do like flower horns I must say though I've never owned one.
