Might also consider a check valve to keep back siphon off the pump too.

Good idea. Can't believe I didn't think of that.

It's good to do to keep pressure off ball valve too for when you have to do maintenance on the pump or take it out etc. Can't remember if you are doing external pump or not. Some of them won't re-start on a power outage if they get pressure on them, which I'm sure you know.

No problem. It will be early march before everything is cycled and well tested. I'll let you know several days before I'm going to place it and you are welcome to add whatever you want in on it.
All that is left if plumbing the overflow drains and the pump return line and hooking up the DI filter. It will definitely get it's first test run this weekend. I'll know real quick if I made any major mistakes lol.

It's alive!!
Got a couple of small things to fix. After that I just need to hook up the DI system and run the air lines for the poret foam filters. I'm super excited that it's finally running.

Anytime David. I'm enjoying a cold IPA and pondering the easiest way to fix a couple of things. Overall it works better than I expected and the pump is the perfect size.

No big puddles of water this morning, that's a good sign.

Got the DI drip system hooked up tonight. Got the heaters controller hooked up also. Fixed on overflow box that wasn't sealed. As soon as the silicone cures on it I'll be up and running and ready for fish. Just need to hook up the air system and I'm done.
Already thinking about adding 3 more tanks, lol.

Need to pick up a couple of bags of pool filter sand. Everything is working well at the moment.
