The block stands project is getting put together! All the stands downstairs will match before long. I'll have Dennis post pics when he's gotten it done. We'll have some 55 Gallon stands to sell or trade shortly.

Angel, there is an add on craigslist wanting a cast iron stand for a 55 if that is what you got.

All ours are wood except one wrought iron one that has thin spots. I actually had considered iron stands but then the block ones turned out so nice that's the way to go.

Should look real nice when you are done. They always look better when they are the same heigth and uniform looking. It will be like your own private fish store!!!

Sounds like you're keeping ole Dennis busy. I'm going to eventually have all of mine on block stands, too. I really like the look of them.

Here's pics of the project so far. We're not done, but it's way better. Freed up a LOT of room in there! Cord taming is next, I think. The floor's still wet from transferring water! One thing at a time.

That's awesome Angel- Looks like a cool place to relax. How are you filtering all the tanks?

Individual hang-ons. A combination of aqua clears and whispers. I don't like all that electric going but it's the only thing within our understanding right now. Drilling tanks doesn't sound fun! The one thing that looks like a sponge filter isn't. It's an airstone a pvc pipe and a sponge but no drilling holes in it was done. When it sits up straight it makes a sand fountain though and that's cool!

It is very relaxing though! All those fish in one place on one level. Love it!

Now that you have so many, you might want to look at a linear piston air pump, or a blower. Mine can run 30 sponge filters using 40 watts. You would save that cost the first couple months. I was a doubter in the sponge filter at first, but I am a huge believer now.

That's really looking great angel and dennis. I'd love to have a room like that. The great thing is, the way it's organized, you have plenty of room for more if you want them. Just a an outstanding fish room.

Will look up one of these systems. Maybe I can fit it in the budget for next month with any luck. Dennis just got a 6 ft. toolbox which wiped out the budget. But he's happy with it and the filters we have will be fine til we can replace them. I'm all for saving money with something central though!

It will, they go from $200-400. The 200 can run about 30 and the 400 can run over 100. I run 6 tanks on this and nothing else. If I could do it over again I would have done this instead of my central pump system just for power consumption. I wouldn't rush it, but for the long haul it could save a lot of money. Some don't like having to look at the sponge filters in the tank.
