We bought a used 30 gallon long yesterday. It had poison dart frogs in it previously. The guy said the frogs don't make poison in captivity but we're unsure about that. What should we use to clean the tank before setting it up for fish, to be sure anything incompatible with the frogs and fish is cleared up?

I would use 10/1 bleach and water and clean/scrubing it down real well. rince it out real well and fill it with water with 10X the recomended declor. I would use a good declor such as Prime. Test the water before adding fish

Thanks. that's 10 parts bleach to 1 part water or the other way around? On the up side, we got the tank for $20. Very cool!

I would think it would be the other way around, angel. Otherwise, you might as well use all bleach. Seems like I was wrong one other time, though, so you might want to wait for someone else to respond...lol

I used a 1% bleach solution to clean my tank when I got it. So far it has worked with no problems, 6 months later.
