I use PRIME(made by Seachem) www.bigalsonline.com has it on sale right now, I buy in bulk so I got the 4 liter for $65, regular price was like $76. One capful (of the 4 liter bottle) treats 100 gallons. So it will last a LONG time and PRIME has a good shelf life as long as it's kept around room temp.

I have used stress coat for over 10 years without any problems. I use something different for the fishroom, but inside I use stress coat. Prime works well also- it really doesn't matter, all you are trying to do is take the chlorine or chloram??? out. Now for the aloe, I doubt there is enough in there to do anything bad or good, but I am not sure.

Does the RO eliminate the need for conditioners?

Tina,
I am not using RO or RO/DI for my Africans, just sediment filter and dual carbons (I bypass the RO membrane and don't have any DI in the loop). I add if needed baking soda and calcium. I always add Epsom salt. Yes you don't need conditioners and I don't waste any water.
You will not need conditioners to remove chlorine, heavy medals, etc., if you use RO water but you will need all of the above to add back and you will waste 3 gallons of water for every gallon of product water you make using an RO or RO/DI.
