Since you recently had a great trip to see John and Betty Oyer's fish setup, I thought you, and everyone else, might enjoy reading this account from someone else who had dealings with them. He is the one I got my Zaire Blue Fronts from and firecracker leleupi, Swange Black Comps, and Blue Orchid Peacock. The only deal I got was on the comps. We had a couple of beers together and talked for a while. He is a great guy- his wife does all the maintenance. He said he had 600 tanks. My debit card was frozen by my bank because I tried to pull out too much money in a strange city, so he gave me the fish (over $400) on a hand shake and a promise to repay.
As far as glass cages, they are fine except the warranty. I am pleased with 4 out of 6 of mine. I just wouldn't put a 240 anywhere else but my garage.

I've had a couple of phone conversations with Betty that went pretty much the same way as his. They're are not much different in person, but they are a little more helpful. Her gourami is HUGE! It's in a large tank, 265 or 300 I'd guess, and the tank is WAY too small for the fish. I saw they had gold head comps, but like most fry they didn't look like much. I wish I'd gotten a bunch now. Nice fish. I'll have to get some next time.
I've heard of Frank Mueller, and may have even met him somewhere. I've not been to his place though, 600 tanks - I'd remember that. Did you see his place Jon, or did you meet him somewhere?

Those look like a nice strain. I haven't kept leleupi in over 20 years. I can see I need to get some more. Very nice. |

No, I don't know frank, I was talking about John Oyer saying he had 600 tanks. I only know john through the conventions and phone conversations.
