I would use buckets. They are $2.50 at lowes or home depot

That's because women shop at walmart and it's easier to make us think something is a bargain. Put it next to a pile of expensive things. Or just let us think hey that's only $1 a gallon! Milk is $3 a gallon. Water is $2 a gallon. The bucket is only $1/gallon. Get it? But men are going to put sloppy things in it like motor oil or roofing tar. You don't care how much it is a gallon you want it to be cheap no matter what, and big enough to handle the job. More men shop at Lowe's and Home Depot(not by much) so have the cheap ones there.

that makes alot of sense since walmart and other grocery stores are modeled after women, to draw them in and appeal to them. lol. (no offense)

Some sandwich shops will sell their 5g pickle buckets for just $1 or so...firehouse subs is one of them.

Almost all restaurants will give them away if you just ask them to hold them for you. All they do is throw them in the dumpster anyway.
