Went up there Friday morning and got a bunch of nice stuff for a great price. Cool guys. They were not quite ready for me yet but were very helpful and very easy to deal with.
I cant believe they fit all that into a Buick.
I got 2 of the Crinum calamistratum that is just awesome and some Madagascar lace that is going to look great. The cabomba purple is starting to color up nice, but the green I am having trouble keeping in the substrate. A bunch was about 15 one inch pieces.
It will be awesome to see them again in the spring. Might not be able to wait that long since they said they were going to try to work out some if it fits, it ships boxes.

Hey.. was nice to see ya.. The cabomba green... a soil layer in your substrate will make it take off quickly.. if you can dig a shallow trench place a piece of old nail in the trench and then slip the tips of the stems under the nail.. cover the nail up... the secret to happy cabomba green is to get it into the substrate and then let it root without touching it if avoidable.

I gave up on local pet shops after finding other traders online. Aquabid has some decent stuff (www.aquabid.com); otherwise, I heavily recommend other forums like www.aquaticplantcentral.com or www.plantedtank.net and buy from their Swap N'Shop sections. You will have to register and make 20 comments before you are allowed to purchase from their Swap N' Shop (or "For Sale/Trade"), but it is worth it. Otherwise, I've gotten some really nice stuff from www.aquariumplants.com before. What are you planning on doing? Planted tanks with African cichlids is BAD almost all the time, unless you are going the java fern/anubias thing. Let me know! If you have questions, I'll be happy to help, if you would like! I've been doing planted tanks for years, and a lot of those early years were based on trial and error.
