Ok I made a lil video just to show you guys the sexy waterproof L.E.D.s that I got. It is about a 15 ft section with many color combinations and very bright. The video is me flipping through some of the colors and showing some strobe effects at the end. The remote changes the colors, brightness and dimness, turns the unit off and on, and is rf so I should be able to turn the tank lights on and off from across the room. The colors are really just a novelty for this since I will only be running the white or the cool blue. the strip can actually be cut and split into different light strips. you would just need to solder your 12v 2amp power supply back to each new strip. I am choosing to keep it all one piece and make 2 pieces per tank by bending. I will use the leftover for light in my access panel where my sump will be. Forgive Nyx one of my helpers for wanting to be the star of this video. Towards the end I show the torch I borrowed from Stoney and some of the foam I was melting. This is the foam I will covor the project with. It is very rigid, not like regular Styrofoam so I won't need any other support.

I saw some priced that cheap from Hong Kong, but I've ran into some trouble with overseas sellers(dead beat sellers and slow shipping). I found a guy in TX selling them got the lights and the remote for 27 shipped

Looking good. Wish I had your energy.
You might try some black brushed-on fence paint instead of spray paint. That raw wood is going to suck up a lot of paint before the color evens out.

I knew I would be taking a gamble with the spraypaint but this stuff is 1 dollar per can. Its my cheapest alternative. Nothing wood will be exposed so this is really for cosmetics. it will only cost me 4 to 5 dollars this way

As promised the water test video. I still have quite a bit of fine tuning (water levelers installed, adding media and poret foam, flow rate, tighten bulk heads) but all and all I am very very very proud!!!

Well we do know one thing.. Fuzzy takes vitamins... lol
I would love to see this setup completed with fish. Can't wait for a finished project.
Glen, it's be pretty sweet if you can do a fish room like this. I was talking to my wife about doing a 125 long in the center then two 55g on each side and doing a waterfall type cascading down then back to a sump and into the 125g. Except now we are moving so I'm putting that out of my head for now lol.
Can't wait for a finished product.
