Jon, I cut alot of glass and have found in the past that if you could cut a piece and silocone it to the inside of the tank you can preaty much fix just about any crack. Unless it is just broken completely out. I have never been to glass cages and from what I here from all of you guys I don't think I will be visiting there anyway soon.

Ditto. I have a 50 long I did this to, on the bottom of the tank and it has held for years now and is full of fish and h20 as we speak. No problems.

main thing is to make sure the glass is really clean before you put the silcone to it

My 110 that I am using now a guy let it sit outside last winter and it had a 10 to 12" crack all the way across the lower left side corner. I cut a piece of glass and repaired it and it is still holding. Like Mike said the main thing is to be sure you glass and tank are very clean before starting. The best way to clean the glass is with vinager. It doesn't smell very good while you are doing it, but it makes the silocone stick to the glass alot better. Also I got my glass cutter off eBay for about 10.00, but be sure if you look into one that you get one that you put the oil in. They work so much better and last alot longer.

Haven't bought a glass cutter in several years. Did not know one was made you could put oil into. Makes great and perfect sense though. Can one find these @ H.D. or Lowes or Wal-mart ? ..... Or just off a computer ordering site like E-bay or Amazon ?

Fyi, sales tax is computed off regular price and not sale price, so a 40 breeder is $50
